The Web Design Process

Step 1 - Decide on a domain name

If you can unsure about registering a domain, we can do it for you. All you will need to do is provide us with a name(s) you prefer and we'll find out if they are available, then we can purchase them for you.

Step 2 - Hosting

DAVIS Web Designs can host your website for you. You can choose what type of hosting you would like together with email addresses you will need. For more information on hosting click here

Step 3 - The Design/Development

We first start the design process with pen and paper. Creating story boards and logo design (if not already provided). Next, of these designs the best is chosen and more detail is added such as and menu system and other navigation sections.

We then turn the paper design into a functional websites. From the paper designs or a pre designed logo, we can decide on the colouring of the website. This is then all put together in code.

Step 4 - Testing

We use in-house testing methods where the code is tested on different machine and browsers before going live. We also use outside sources to test our websites for usability, aesthetics and navigation testing. We use W3C guidelines and W3C validation tools such XHTML and CSS.

After the testing in all areas is complete changes are made where appropriate.

Step 5 - Going live

Once the site is complete, we will upload it to our testing site where you can view the finished project and if you happy with it , the site will made live.
